Recipe: Cocktail Sauce

A perfect accompaniment for any seafood!

This is the recipe for the Cocktail Sauce we used at the world famous Straight Wharf Restaurant on Nantucket Island. It has most of the usual ingredients in cocktail sauce with a few unique twists that make it interesting and refreshing, most notably the addition of gin. It is really simple to make and is the undeniable champion of all cocktail sauces.

  • 1 small onion

  • 1 small carrot

  • 1 stalk celery

  • ½ Jalapeno

Roughly chop produce before adding to food processor. Carefully pulse and mix until vegetables are ground, avoiding pulverizing produce and creating a paste. DO NOT OVERPROCESS.

  • 1 qt ketchup

  • 1 cup horseradish

  • 2 oz Sriracha hot sauce

  • 1 oz Tabasco

  • ½ C. lemon juice

  • 2 shots of Gin

  • 1 oz worcestershire

Mix liquid ingredients well with the chopped vegetables from food processor in a separate bowl. Cover and chill till serving.
